Mohamed Salah reached another historic milestone by scoring his 250th goal for Liverpool as the Reds returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield. Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Arsenal continued their dominant run with a comfortable 2-0 win at Burnley on Saturday.
Liverpool, who had endured a tough spell with four consecutive league defeats, finally rediscovered their rhythm under Arne Slot. Their breakthrough came just before halftime when Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez misplaced a pass straight to Salah, who calmly slotted home his fifth goal of the season.
The Egyptian star’s strike marked his 250th goal in all competitions for the Reds — a testament to his consistency and brilliance since joining the club. The win was sealed in the 58th minute when Ryan Gravenberch’s shot took a deflection and found the net, giving Liverpool their first Premier League win since September 20.
The victory leaves Liverpool third in the standings, seven points behind Arsenal, and provides much-needed momentum ahead of crucial clashes with Real Madrid and Manchester City next week.
At Turf Moor, Arsenal extended their winning streak to five league matches, further strengthening their claim for the Premier League title. Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring with a powerful header from Declan Rice’s corner — his first league goal since September.
Rice then doubled the lead with a header of his own in the 35th minute, giving Arsenal complete control. The Gunners have now won nine consecutive games in all competitions, boasting the league’s best defense with only three goals conceded in ten matches.
Elsewhere, Manchester United were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. Casemiro put United ahead in the first half, but Forest hit back with quick goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona early in the second half. Amad Diallo rescued a point for United with an 81st-minute volley.
United manager Ruben Amorim, marking his one-year anniversary in charge, praised his team’s fighting spirit despite the dropped points. Forest, managed by Sean Dyche, remain in the relegation zone, four points adrift of safety.
In London, Chelsea continued their dominance over Tottenham Hotspur, securing a 1-0 win courtesy of Joao Pedro’s strike — their fifth straight victory against Spurs in the league. Enzo Maresca’s side now sit fifth, level on points with Tottenham but behind on goal difference.
Elsewhere, Fulham comfortably beat Wolves 3-0, leaving the bottom club eight points from safety after Emmanuel Agbadou’s red card. Crystal Palace defeated Brentford 2-0, while Brighton cruised to a 3-0 win over Leeds, rounding off an action-packed Premier League weekend.
