The Pakistan Cricket Board is working to finalise details with Cricket Australia for Australia’s upcoming limited-overs visit to Pakistan, with talks focused primarily on locking in dates and venues.
According to information emerging from the discussions, Australia are expected to arrive in Pakistan toward the end of May for a short One Day International series comprising three matches. The tentative window being considered spans from May 31 to June 5, with Rawalpindi likely to host one fixture and Lahore set to stage the remaining two games.
Australia were last in Pakistan earlier this year, when they competed in a three-match T20I series. After completing their Pakistan assignment, the visitors are expected to head directly to Bangladesh, where another white-ball series awaits, beginning June 9.
Pakistan’s own schedule is also taking shape, with a tour of Bangladesh pencilled in ahead of the Australian series. That trip is expected to run between May 8 and May 20 and will feature a short bilateral contest.
The national side have not played Test cricket since their home series against South Africa in October last year, which concluded in a 1-1 draw. Since then, their calendar has been focused on limited-overs preparations.
Looking ahead, Pakistan’s red-ball commitments resume later in the year. Under the International Cricket Council Future Tours Programme for 2023–27, the team led by Shan Masood is scheduled to tour England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
Before that assignment, Pakistan are also expected to travel to the Caribbean for a two-Test series against the West Indies during July and August. Further down the calendar, Sri Lanka are due to visit Pakistan in November for a two-match Test series, while New Zealand are slated for a similar tour in March 2027.
