KARACHI: England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings, currently featuring for Rawalpindiz in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), has publicly rejected misleading statements that recently circulated on social media, distancing himself from fabricated remarks attributed to him.
A widely shared post on X (formerly Twitter) falsely claimed that Billings had spoken in a press interaction about mental health struggles linked to PSL participation and allegedly referenced inappropriate comments regarding dressing room practices. The post quickly gained traction but lacked any credible basis.

Billings swiftly addressed the situation, making it clear that he had neither participated in such a press conference nor made the statements being circulated online. His response effectively shut down the misinformation and clarified his position.
Following significant backlash from users, the original account responsible for spreading the false attribution issued a public apology, admitting fault in sharing unverified information and acknowledging reliance on an unreliable source.
On the field, Billings has been one of the more consistent performers for Rawalpindiz this season. In six appearances, he has accumulated 166 runs at an impressive strike rate of 148.21, including two half-centuries that have stood out in an otherwise difficult campaign for his side.
Rawalpindiz, however, continue to struggle in PSL 11. The team has endured six consecutive defeats, remains winless, and sits at the bottom of the table with zero points and a net run rate of -1.821, putting them on the brink of elimination.
They are scheduled to take on defending champions Lahore Qalandars in their next fixture on Saturday at the National Bank Stadium, where they will be aiming to secure their first win of the tournament.
