LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the window for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), confirming that the tournament will take place from March 18 to May 2, 2027.
The upcoming edition will once again feature eight franchises following the league’s expansion from six to eight teams in 2026.
According to a PCB press release, the tournament window was finalised after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, following the PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, 2026.
The meeting was attended by owners and representatives of all eight franchises, who discussed preparations for the upcoming season.
PSL 12 will look to build on the success of the previous edition, which marked a significant transformation for Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.

The 2026 season saw two new franchises join the tournament, while the traditional player draft was replaced by an auction system for the first time in the league’s history.
The tournament also witnessed record attendance, with 32,461 spectators watching the final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi emerged as champions of PSL 11 after defeating newcomers Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3, 2026, ending their nine-year wait for another title.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence that the upcoming edition would further strengthen the league’s reputation following a record-breaking season.
“HBL PSL 11 showed the world what this league is capable of – thrilling moments that had the whole nation transfixed, record crowds, record broadcasts. HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar further,” Naqvi said.
“We are committed to delivering another outstanding season and look forward to seeing all eight franchises compete once again for the title.”
Meanwhile, PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the league was determined to maintain the momentum generated by its expanded format.
“Last season changed what people expect from this league, and we intend to meet every one of those expectations in 2027,” Naseer stated.
He added that several important announcements would follow in the coming months as franchises begin assembling their squads for the new season.
“Today’s announcement is only the first step; direct signings, retentions, the trade window and the auction will each bring their own excitement in the months ahead,” he added.
The PCB further confirmed that the complete match schedule, venues, player auction details and ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.
