Yorkshire have bolstered their pace attack for the upcoming Vitality Blast by securing the services of Pakistan international Hasan Ali, stepping in as a late replacement for Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq.
The English county confirmed on Tuesday that Hasan will be available for the full duration of the T20 competition, which begins on May 22. Naveen, originally signed for the campaign, has been ruled out due to injury, prompting Yorkshire to move swiftly in finalising a proven alternative.

Club officials expressed confidence in their new recruit, highlighting Hasan’s experience at the international level and his effectiveness in the shortest format. Beyond the Blast, the right-arm quick is also expected to feature in select County Championship fixtures, including matches against Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
Currently representing Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Hasan has been in impressive form. He sits among the leading wicket-takers this season, underlining his readiness for the English summer.
This stint will not be unfamiliar territory for Hasan. He previously enjoyed productive spells with Warwickshire, where he made a strong impression by consistently delivering breakthroughs and maintaining an excellent bowling average.
Yorkshire’s management welcomed the signing, acknowledging the disappointment of losing Naveen but emphasizing that Hasan’s arrival ensures continuity in quality. The club believes his aggressive bowling style and big-match temperament will add significant depth to their squad.
With valuable experience across international and franchise cricket, Hasan now prepares for another county chapter, aiming to make an immediate impact when he links up with the squad at Headingley next month.
