After the landmark 1000th ODI against Australia, former cricketer Mohammad Yousaf has named his greatest Pakistani cricketers.
Yousuf posted the names on social media platform X and paid tribute to Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory.
“Yousuf: Greatest players for the #1000th ODI win in the history of Pakistan,” Yousuf wrote.
The right-hander named Imran Khan, the 1992 World Cup-winning captain, as the best leader and all-rounder, while Wasim Akram, the best pace bowler, was second on his list.
He selected Saeed Anwar as the best batter, with wicket-keeper Rashid Latif and spinner Saqlain Mushtaq. He also named the 1992 World Cup final as the most memorable moment in the history of Pakistan cricket.

The achievement saw Pakistan become the third side in men’s ODI cricket to play 1000 matches, joining Australia and India in the exclusive club.
Arafat Minhas starred with a stunning five-wicket haul on debut as the visitors were bundled out for just 202 in their 42.3 overs.
Minhas also recorded the best bowling figures by a Pakistani on ODI debut, eclipsing a 41-year-old record held by former pacer Zakir Khan, who had taken 4-19 against New Zealand in 1984.
Pakistan chased down a modest target of 201 to reach 202-5 in 42.3 overs largely thanks to a match-defining 127-run partnership between Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori.
Babar Azam was the top scorer with 69 off 94 balls, hitting four boundaries and six. Meanwhile, Ghazi Ghouri impressed with 65 from 92 balls with eight fours.
The victory gave Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series, the second to be played in Lahore on June 2.
