Defending Pakistan Super League champions Lahore Qalandars have confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2026 edition of the Global Super League, with the tournament scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 1.
The franchise made the announcement عبر its official digital platforms, signaling its intent to once again test itself against elite T20 sides from across different leagues worldwide. The competition continues to position itself as a meeting point for top-performing franchise teams on the global circuit.
This will mark Lahore’s second appearance in the tournament. In the league’s debut season in 2024, the Qalandars delivered a competitive campaign but ultimately settled for a fourth-place finish in a five-team lineup. That edition was clinched by Rangpur Riders, representing the Bangladesh Premier League.
Franchise owner Sameen Rana expressed optimism ahead of the team’s return, highlighting the broader significance of the tournament beyond results. He emphasized that the Global Super League offers a valuable stage to promote the Qalandars’ cricketing philosophy and cultural identity to an international audience.
Rana also pointed to the organization’s well-regarded player development pipeline, noting that emerging talent from their grassroots system will be part of the squad, further underlining the franchise’s long-term vision.
Meanwhile, tournament chairman Clive Lloyd welcomed Lahore’s inclusion, describing the side as one of the most vibrant and accomplished outfits in franchise T20 cricket. He added that their presence would significantly elevate both the competitive standard and global appeal of the tournament.
With momentum from their domestic success and a growing reputation on the international stage, Lahore Qalandars will be aiming to make a deeper impact this time around as they return to the Global Super League spotlight.
