DUBLIN: Cricket Ireland has announced the squad for the Test against New Zealand starting on 27 May.
Andrew Balbirnie will lead the side without several senior players, with Paul Stirling, Barry McCarthy, and Josh Little also unavailable due to injuries, along with Gavin Hoey and Jordan Neill.
The only Test match will be Ireland’s 13th and will be played at Stormont, Belfast.
Jake Egan, Tom Mayes, Liam McCarthy, and Reuben Wilson may also make their debuts.
Meanwhile, New Zealand has named squads for the Ireland and England Tests, with Tom Latham captaining the side.
The 19-man squad will play a one-off Test against Ireland, starting on May 27 in Belfast, before a three-Test series against England, starting on June 4.
New Zealand has been strengthened by the return of Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke, with Jacob Duffy missing the tour as he awaits the birth of his child.
