DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced the match officials for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in England and Wales from 12 June.
The mega event will be the third successive edition to have an all-female panel of match officials in the tournament.
“This will be the third consecutive edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup to have an all-female match official panel, with Candace La Borde, Gayathri Venugopalan, Kerrin Klaaste and Shathira Jakir Jesy all set to make their tournament debut in England and Wales from June 12,” ICC said in a press release.
A total of 14 umpires and 4 match referees will officiate the tournament’s 33 matches, with nine members of the match officials’ panel returning from the last edition.
Most experienced official in the tournament is Australia’s Claire Polosak, who is officiating for the sixth time.
Jacquline Williams and Kim Cotton have both refereed 19 games at this level, while she has been in the middle for 22 games previously. Both will officiate in the upcoming tournament to reach the landmark of five Women’s T20 World Cups.
Three of the returning officials are Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira, who were all part of the 2024 edition. Joining them is also Trudy Anderson of New Zealand.
