LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has finalized an extensive and diverse commentary team for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, assembling 23 voices across English and Urdu broadcasts to elevate the viewing experience for fans worldwide.
Adding fresh international flavor to this year’s coverage, former West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite is set to make his PSL commentary debut. He joins a well-rounded group of global analysts, while former Australian women’s cricketer Lisa Sthalekar returns to the league’s broadcast setup.
In a notable shift, seasoned campaigner Shoaib Malik transitions from the field to the commentary box after participating in every previous PSL season as a player. He will contribute to the Urdu panel alongside former Pakistan captains Salman Butt and Sana Mir.
The Urdu commentary unit, comprising seven members, also includes experienced broadcaster Tariq Saeed, ex-women’s international Marina Iqbal, Shah Faisal, and Ayaz Chaudhary, who gained recognition after winning Pepsi Voice of Pakistan 2022.
On the English side, Brathwaite will be accompanied by an impressive list of international commentators. The panel features South Africa’s JP Duminy, England’s Dominic Cork, Nick Knight, and Mark Butcher, New Zealand’s Martin Guptill, Australia’s Greg Blewett, and Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan. Veteran broadcaster Michael Haysman also joins the lineup.
Pakistan’s representation remains strong in the English panel, with former captains Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Aamir Sohail, and Urooj Mumtaz bringing their insights to the coverage. Former international cricketer Bazid Khan is also included in the team.
Sikandar Bakht will serve in a dual capacity this season, contributing both as a commentator and as part of the presentation team.
The hosting lineup introduces new international faces Jess Crowe and Neroli Meadows, who will make their PSL debut, alongside familiar presenter Zainab Abbas.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer expressed optimism about the newly announced panel, highlighting its depth of experience and its ability to enhance the tournament’s broadcast quality. He noted that fans can look forward to engaging and insightful commentary as anticipation builds for the upcoming season of the HBL PSL.
