COLOMBO: The United States won the toss and opted to bowl first against Pakistan in the 12th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club on Tuesday.
This contest marks the first-ever match at the venue to be played under lights, with conditions expected to assist bowlers later in the evening. USA’s decision reflects their strategy to exploit the pitch and possible dew factor during the second innings.
In terms of head-to-head record, both teams have met once in T20 World Cup history. That encounter came during the 2024 edition, where the USA stunned Pakistan by securing a dramatic Super Over victory. As a result, USA lead the rivalry 1–0.
Pakistan will aim to level the record by posting a strong total, while USA look to continue their winning momentum. More updates will follow.
