PCB’s categorical response to ICC over holding Champions Trophy in Pakistan
“If a formula is established to play matches with India at neutral venues, Pakistan will never play against India,” PCB said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has made its position clear to the ICC on the issue of holding the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Pakistan has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about its rejection of the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy.
According to PCB sources, the officials have made it clear that the ICC does not accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy. The PCB said that India’s refusal to come to Pakistan is unacceptable.
In addition, the PCB, while throwing the ball in the ICC’s court, made it clear that an acceptable formula for the Champions Trophy should be provided before the board meeting.
At the same time, the PCB said that ‘if a formula is made to play a match with India at a neutral venue, Pakistan will never play in India, while the Pakistan Cricket Board is waiting for the ICC’s response.
It should be noted that India’s refusal to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy had come to light. In response to the Indian reaction, Pakistan had completely rejected the transfer of the tournament to another location or the hybrid model formula.
Due to Indian stubbornness, the ICC has not yet been able to announce the new schedule for the Champions Trophy, which is also worrying broadcasters as they fear losing millions of dollars.
