MIRPUR: Pakistan spinner Noman Ali make history during first Test against Bangladesh national cricket team in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium by becoming oldest player ever to reach 100 Test wickets.
At the age of 39 years and 217 days, Noman break 130-years-old record after out Mehidy Hasan Miraz in Bangladesh’s second innings at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The previous record belonged to former England spinner Bobby Peel, who had completed 100 Test wickets at 39 years and 180 days in 1896.
Noman’s rise in international cricket is considered one of Pakistan’s most inspiring late-career success stories. left-arm spinner made his Test debut for Pakistan national cricket team in 2021 against South Africa national cricket team at Karachi when he was already 34 years old.
He impressed immediately by taking a five-wicket haul on debut, becoming the 12th Pakistani bowler to achieve that milestone in his first Test.
