LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the national team’s jersey for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to commence on February 7 across venues in India and Sri Lanka. The reveal marks a significant moment as Pakistan prepares for one of cricket’s most anticipated global tournaments.
The jersey launch came after a brief delay, as the PCB awaited formal clearance from the federal government regarding the team’s participation in the mega event. Following approval, the board proceeded with the official unveiling during the third and final T20 International between Pakistan and Australia at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
The PCB released a professionally produced reveal video across its official YouTube channel and social media platforms. The video features national team captain Salman Ali Agha alongside fellow squad members, proudly showcasing the newly designed kit, officially titled the “Vanguard Markhor Edition.”

The newly unveiled jersey reflects Pakistan’s cricketing identity and national pride. It features a light green base complemented by layered darker green patterns. These intricate patterns artistically depict the Markhor, Pakistan’s national animal, symbolizing resilience, strength, and unity. The modern design blends tradition with a contemporary aesthetic, resonating strongly with fans ahead of the global tournament.
The Markhor-inspired detailing has already gained widespread attention on social media, with supporters praising the bold yet elegant visual concept. The PCB emphasized that the jersey represents not only the team’s fighting spirit but also Pakistan’s cultural heritage on the world stage.
Pakistan’s participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been confirmed, though a notable exception remains. The national team will not compete against arch-rivals India during the tournament. This decision was finalized following a high-level meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Initially, Pakistan was scheduled to face India on February 15, 2026, in Colombo. However, the Government of Pakistan later issued an official statement clarifying its position. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the government confirmed Pakistan’s participation in the tournament while clearly stating that the team would not take the field for the match against India.
“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026; however, the Pakistan Cricket Team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February 2026 against India,” the statement read.
Despite the absence of the high-profile India clash, anticipation remains high among fans as Pakistan prepares to compete against the world’s top cricketing nations. With the unveiling of the new jersey, excitement around the team’s T20 World Cup campaign continues to build, signaling the beginning of Pakistan’s journey toward another major ICC title.
