The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming UAE T20 Tri-Series and the ACC Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates.
All-rounder Salman Ali Agha has been named captain of the side. The squad features a strong mix of experienced campaigners and promising youngsters. Senior players like Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf will lead the bowling and batting departments, while emerging stars such as Saim Ayub, Khushdil Shah, and Hussain Talat have been given opportunities to shine on the international stage.
Notably, star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been left out of the squad. Their last T20I appearance for Pakistan was against South Africa in December 2024.
Speaking on the squad selection, head coach Mike Hesson explained:
“We have retained Salman Mirza because of his impressive performances in Bangladesh.”
