Pakistan-Australia ODI series 2025-26 to be postponed: reports

The upcoming ODI series between Pakistan and Australia, originally scheduled to begin in March 2026, is now expected to be postponed, according to fresh local media reports.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) are reviewing the schedule. Discussions suggest the white-ball series may be moved to after PSL Season 11, rather than in March.

The ODI fixtures were set on the ICC Future Tours Programme for 13–19 March. Insiders now say a revised schedule is under serious consideration.

Australia’s earlier tour to Pakistan, a three-match T20I series from 30 January to 5 February, remains unaffected. This serves as a crucial warm-up before the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

During an online press conference on 3 June, Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg expressed full confidence in the tour’s continuation and highlighted Pakistan’s importance to Australia’s cricketing commitments.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series is an important part of our schedule. Communication between both boards has been excellent,” said Greenberg.

He further emphasised the significance of bilateral cricket in Pakistan:

“We want more opportunities to play in Pakistan and definitely want more series there. Our 2022 tour was highly successful, and the team received an exceptional welcome. We hope such tours continue.”

For context, Pakistan last toured Australia in November 2024. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, the Green Shirts won a 2–1 ODI series— their first in Australia in 22 years. Australia then swept the T20Is 3–0.
