Groups Announced for Over 40s T20 World Cup 2025 in Karachi

The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) has officially revealed the group line-up for the highly anticipated Over 40s T20 World Cup 2025, scheduled to take place in Karachi from November 21 to December 1.

This will be the first-ever edition of the tournament in the fast-paced T20 format, bringing together 12 international teams. The competition will feature legendary players, all aged over 40, making it a unique spectacle for cricket fans.

Group Division

Group 1: Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada, UAE
Group 2: Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia, Rest of the World XI

Star-Studded Line-Up

The event is expected to draw cricketing greats, with Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, and Kamran Akmal likely to be in action. Fans will get to see their favorite veterans compete at a high level once again.

Pakistan’s Winning Legacy

Pakistan enters the tournament with an impressive track record in veterans’ cricket:

  • Over 60s World Cup – Champions (Brisbane, 2022)
  • Over 40s Global Cup – Champions (Karachi, 2023)
  • Over 50s World Cup – Champions (Colombo, 2025)

Tournament Schedule & Venues

A total of 42 matches will be held across multiple venues in Karachi, with all Pakistan fixtures scheduled under floodlights to attract maximum viewership.

Originally planned for December 1–13, the event was rescheduled due to the 35th National Games, which will be held in Karachi from December 6–13. The Games will feature over 7,000 athletes, officials, and technical staff, making it one of the biggest sporting events in Pakistan.
