Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has shared that the decision to appoint the captain of the Pakistan Men’s team will be decided by the national selectors and coaches.
Speaking to the media after inspecting the ongoing construction work at the Gaddafi Stadium here, Naqvi disclosed that he has left the decision regarding the possible change in Pakistan captaincy to the selectors and coaches.
Naqvi said that the decision about the captaincy will be taken after consultation with the coaches, mentors and selection committee.
“A workshop is scheduled on September 22, where everyone will be invited to give their suggestions, and decisions will be made after that,” he added.
“I know that if there is a mistake, it will fall on me. If the team doesn’t perform well, if there is a mistake in selection, or if the coach loses, it will all fall on me. “, he revealed, adding that he is also meeting the selection committee today.

Earlier today, it was reported that the PCB has decided to convene a high-profile meeting on September 22, dubbed the “Connection Camp”, to discuss the future of Pakistan cricket, including Including the captaincy of national men’s teams.
In the high-profile meeting, the current head coaches of Pakistan’s red ball and white ball teams, Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten, will be accompanied by the heads of the International, Domestic and High Performance Departments respectively, while senior cricketers, coaches and PCB officials will also be present.
The details further revealed that the future of Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam and Test captain Shan Masood will be up for debate, with the former likely to be sacked ahead of Pakistan’s tour of Australia later this year.
Mohsin Naqvi further informed that the Test series between Pakistan and England will be played in Multan and Rawalpindi.
