LAHORE: Karachi Kings’ bowling coach Shaun Tait has expressed high admiration for senior pacer Hasan Ali, applauding his leadership qualities and support for the team’s younger players during the ongoing Pakistan Super League Season 10 (PSL 10).

In a post-match press conference following a tight loss to Quetta Gladiators, Tait spoke highly of Hasan, highlighting not just his experience but the vital mentorship role he plays within the squad.

“He’s almost like a bowling coach himself,” Tait said with a smile. “Hasan steps up and takes ownership, especially when it comes to guiding the younger guys. He leads from the front.”

Tait, who has worked with Hasan Ali in the past, noted that the pacer’s maturity and game awareness make him a crucial figure in the bowling unit.

“At this stage in his career, he knows exactly what he’s doing. I don’t interfere much with his bowling—he’s got it under control,” Tait added.

Close Match Against Quetta Gladiators

Reflecting on their narrow five-run loss, Shaun Tait emphasized that Karachi Kings missed a key opportunity and called on the batting unit to show more accountability in pressure situations.

“It was a game we should’ve won,” he admitted. “Someone in the batting order needed to take the game deep and finish it off.”

Quetta Gladiators posted a modest total of 143 at Gaddafi Stadium. In response, Karachi Kings came close but ultimately ended their chase at 137/8.

How the Match Unfolded

The chase started on a rough note with captain David Warner falling for just 4 runs to Mohammad Amir in the first over. However, Tim Seifert and James Vince stabilized the innings, building a solid 50-run partnership for the second wicket.

Vince’s dismissal for 30 (29) by Quetta captain Saud Shakeel shifted the momentum. Seifert, however, kept up the pressure with a rapid-fire 47 off 26 balls before being removed by Mohammad Wasim Jr.

From that point on, Karachi’s batting line-up faltered. Shan Masood managed only 9 off 17, and Khushdil Shah was dismissed without scoring. Mohammad Nabi followed soon after for 4, and the middle order collapsed.

Hasan Ali fought till the end with a fiery unbeaten 24 off 13 balls, but it wasn’t enough to cross the finish line.

Quetta’s Bowling Performance

Quetta Gladiators delivered a balanced bowling effort with Mohammad Amir, Khurram Shahzad, and Abrar Ahmed each claiming two wickets. Wasim Jr. also chipped in with a key breakthrough, ensuring Karachi Kings couldn’t build a late recovery.
