Indo-Pak match will test both teams under pressure: Naseem Shah

Pakistan pacer discusses strategy, India match, and tournament preparations

Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has spoken about the importance of disciplined bowling in the upcoming Champions Trophy, acknowledging the unique challenges fast bowlers face on tournament pitches.

Speaking about bowling conditions, Shah highlighted that while the pitches may not offer notable support to pace bowlers, maintaining proper line, length, and discipline can help create pressure on opposing teams.

Regarding the highly anticipated match against India, Shah maintained a measured approach. He noted that while the team hasn’t specifically discussed the fixture yet and ‘winning one match isn’t our ultimate goal,’ both teams will face equal pressure in this traditionally intense rivalry. Success depends on how well each side handles the high-stakes atmosphere.

The young pacer reflected on the team’s recent performances, noting that Pakistan has come close to victory in several recent matches. “We’ve identified that certain mistakes have cost us crucial games. As players, we must learn from past experiences,” Shah explained.

Shah expressed confidence in the team’s potential to perform well in the tournament, emphasizing their focus on minimizing errors and applying lessons learned from previous competitions. He stressed that Pakistan would approach the India match like any other game in the tournament, maintaining their standard game plan and strategy.

The fast bowler’s comments underscore Pakistan’s preparation strategy for the Champions Trophy, highlighting a balanced approach between technical execution and mental preparation for high-pressure situations.
