Lahore (Web Desk): The cricketing world mourns the loss of former Pakistan Test cricketer Farooq Hamid, who passed away at the age of 80. According to family sources, the veteran fast bowler breathed his last earlier today.

Farooq Hamid had the honor of representing Pakistan in a Test match against Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1964. Though he played just one Test, his impact on the domestic circuit was significant. Over the course of his first-class career, he participated in 43 matches, claiming 111 wickets with his sharp pace and disciplined line.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) extended heartfelt condolences over his demise. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also expressed deep sorrow, saying:

“Farooq Hamid’s contributions to Pakistan cricket will always be remembered. May Allah grant him a high place in Jannah and give strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.”

Farooq Hamid’s dedication to the game and his brief but notable appearance on the international stage made him a respected figure in the cricketing community. He leaves behind a legacy of discipline, sportsmanship, and national pride.
