Multan Sultans produced one of the standout chases of the season, riding on a breathtaking knock from Sahibzada Farhan to defeat Hyderabad Kingsmen by six wickets in a high-octane Pakistan Super League clash at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.
Set a formidable 226-run target, Multan approached the chase with intent and composure, eventually overhauling the total with eight deliveries remaining. The innings was built around Farhan’s exceptional unbeaten 106, crafted from just 57 balls. Displaying both power and precision, he cleared the boundary eight times and struck seven fours, dictating terms throughout the pursuit.
At the top, Steve Smith provided early momentum with a well-paced 46, while Shan Masood chipped in with a steady 29 to keep the innings on track. The finishing touch came via an unbroken late partnership, as Arafat Minhas injected urgency with a brisk 26 off 11 balls, ensuring there were no late hiccups.

Earlier in the evening, Hyderabad Kingsmen had posted a daunting 225 for 5 after being asked to bat first. Their innings was launched by an aggressive opening stand between Saim Ayub and Maaz Sadaqat, who combined for a rapid 59 inside the powerplay. The partnership was eventually broken by Peter Siddle, who removed Ayub for 27.
Sadaqat continued the assault, compiling a blistering 62 from just 26 deliveries, peppered with boundaries and towering sixes, before Mohammad Nawaz halted his charge. In the latter stages, Sharjeel Khan took control, remaining unbeaten on 51 off 26 balls to propel his side past the 220 mark.
Despite their imposing total, Hyderabad slumped to their third defeat of the campaign. In contrast, Multan Sultans continue to set the early pace in the tournament, sitting comfortably at the top of the standings with back-to-back victories.
