KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a one-year suspension on South African cricketer Corbin Bosch for breaching his contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Bosch, who was selected by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL draft in January, withdrew from the tournament to participate in another league, violating his commitment.

In addition to the suspension, Bosch has been handed a financial penalty, although the exact amount remains confidential. A PCB insider revealed that a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between the player and the board prevents the details from being made public.

In a public statement shared by the PCB, the 30-year-old all-rounder expressed remorse and took full accountability for his actions.

“I take complete responsibility for my decision and sincerely apologize to the people of Pakistan, Peshawar Zalmi supporters, and the global cricketing community,” Bosch stated.

While the ban explicitly applies to the 2025 PSL season, the PCB has not clarified whether it will impact Bosch’s participation in other international leagues.

The Pakistan Super League, now in its 10th edition, continues to gain international recognition as a premier T20 competition. The new season kicks off this Friday in Rawalpindi, with Islamabad United facing off against Lahore Qalandars in the opening clash.

Bosch, known for his appearances in several T20 leagues worldwide, expressed hope for a future return.

“This has been a valuable learning experience. I’m committed to personal growth and hope to be part of the PSL again,” he added.
