The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has moved a step closer toward expanding the Pakistan Super League (PSL), shortlisting six potential cities for the two new teams expected to join PSL 11 in 2026.

According to reports, the cities under consideration include Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. The selection covers a wide geographical range, reflecting the PCB’s goal to grow the league’s presence across Pakistan.

This update comes as the PCB successfully completes the long-pending independent valuation of existing PSL franchises and essential commercial assets. Following the evaluation, renewal offer letters have been issued to compliant franchises with updated financial terms for the next 10-year cycle.

Franchises must now respond within the designated deadline—a crucial commercial milestone for the league’s future.

To ensure transparency, the PCB has arranged joint and individual meetings between franchise owners and global valuation firm EY MENA. These sessions will allow owners to review the valuation methodology and clarify concerns before confirming their commitments.

Meanwhile, valuation reports for the two expansion teams have also been finalized, clearing the path for the next phase of PSL development. The tender process for selling the new franchises is expected to begin soon.

This progress aligns with the statement made earlier by PSL CEO Salman Naseer, who confirmed that an auction will take place to determine the new team owners. Interested bidders will be given a list of approved city names to choose from.

With expansion planning now underway, PSL 11 is shaping up to be one of the most significant chapters in the league’s history.
