South Africa tour: Senior players including Fakhar Zaman likely to return
Babar Azam, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi will return, while Fakhar Zaman is likely to return to the white-ball team.
Consultations are underway on the Pakistan cricket team’s squads for the tour of South Africa, while there is a strong possibility of Fakhar Zaman and other senior players returning to the white-ball team.
According to sources, the squads for the tour of South Africa are expected to be announced after the end of the ODI series against Zimbabwe or the first T20 match.
Sources say that there will be a strong squad for the ODI series, Babar Azam, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi will return, while there is a strong possibility of Fakhar Zaman returning to the white-ball team.
While keeping the Champions Trophy in mind, Fakhar Zaman has been declared a necessity for the team, while Imam-ul-Haq’s name is also being considered for the red-ball team.
It has also been agreed to give young players a chance in the T20 series against South Africa, while senior batsmen and bowlers can be rested in the T20 series against South Africa.
It should be noted that plans are being made to set up a camp for Test players in South Africa soon. The Pakistan team will tour South Africa in December, where a series of 3 ODIs, 3 T20s and 2 Test matches will be played between Pakistan and South Africa. The white and red ball series between the two teams will be played from December 10 to January 7.
