Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that both Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi will be in the starting lineup for Thursday’s Europa Conference League play-off first leg against Norwegian side Fredrikstad.
The duo have been heavily linked with Premier League rivals — Eze attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Guehi being monitored by Liverpool. Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Glasner made it clear that he expects full professionalism and commitment from both players while they remain under contract.
“It is always the duty of a player to give 100 percent as long as he is under contract,” Glasner told reporters in his pre-match press conference. “Some were surprised when Marc and Ebs started against Chelsea, but they showed their dedication. Tomorrow, they will start again because they remain committed.”
Glasner, who has already led Palace to FA Cup and Community Shield success, emphasized the importance of the pair to the squad’s progress. “They have been crucial to our recent achievements, and they will continue to play a big role as long as they wear the Palace shirt. If they eventually move on, I expect them to leave with the legacy of giving everything for this club.”
Eze is contracted until 2027, while captain Guehi’s current deal runs until 2026. Glasner admitted that the speculation around their futures has been ongoing for weeks, but insisted it has not affected their performances.
“They played the Community Shield, and we won. They played against Chelsea, and we drew. Now they will play against Fredrikstad — the focus remains on Crystal Palace,” Glasner concluded.
With two of their star men starting, Palace will aim to take a strong advantage into the second leg as they push for a group stage spot in European competition.
